To Apply to the 2010-11 ASTA/NJ Solo Competition:

2) Please download and review the repertoire guidelines for ASTA/NJ Solo Competition
3) Please download and review the ASTA National Solo Competition Guidelines. These guidelines apply to all students wishing to be considered for the National Level of the ASTA Solo Strings Competition; they also satisfy requirments for ASTA/NJ Solo Strings Competition. For your information, ASTA/NJ divides the Junior Level into three categories for the NJ state competition (Early Bird, Junior A & Junior B). ASTA National Solo Competition combines all students under the age of 19 (as of March 20, 2011) into ONE Junior Division. Please note that we may send winners from each of our three junior division categories to the National Competition BUT AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL, ALL STUDENTS UNDER THE AGE OF 19 (as of March 20, 2011) COMPETE IN ONE JUNIOR DIVISION CATEGORY.

Eligibility for ASTA/NJ Solo Competition
- All Participants must complete the Entry Application Form
- (apply online at www.astanj.com; downloadable application also available from website)
- Applications including audition CD must be received by October 15, 2010 with non-refundable application fee of $65.00 payable to ASTA/NJ.
- Participants must be ASTA/NJ members, or current students of ASTA/NJ members.
- Participants must be residents of NJ
- Participants must show proof of ASTA/NJ membership on the audition day.
Division of competition by age
- Early Bird Division age 11and under as of 3/20/2011
- Junior Division A age 12to 14 as of 3/20/2011
- Junior Division B age 15to 18 as of 3/20/2011
- Senior Division age 19 to 25 as of 3/20/2011
